Where Would These Insects And Small Animals Fall Into The Nutrition Pyramid?
Posted by Zolly | Under Nutrition Thursday Feb 25, 2010i have to create a menu for a tarsier and then identify where the food he eats are(what place in the nutrition pyramid they can be placed)
the insects and small animals are :
crickets
cockroaches
worms
spiders
grasshoppers
bats
lizards
grab
shrimp
spiders
thank you so much
They are primarily insectivorous, and catch insects by jumping at them. They are also known to prey on small vertebrates, such as birds, snakes, lizards, and bats. As they jump from tree to tree, tarsiers can catch even birds in motion.
A food/nutrient pyramid will indicate the daily food/nutreint recommendations per day. These will be in the form of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins etc etc. I could not find a food pyramid for a Tarsier online so I can’t draw a nutrient pyramid.
But the food you mentioned are mostly proteins and some fats (in some cases). since tarsier’s are mostly carnivore I guess its to be assumed they require more proteins than other sources of nutrients.
