Is it alright for a pregnant woman to work out at all? I’m guessing it probably shouldnt be too strenuous. Does anyone have any health tips or good nutrition facts for a women while she’s pregnant?

Its best to discuss your situation with your doctor/ob/gyn. most woman are able to continue with some sort of exercise during pregnancy and can even benefit from it. But only you doctor can tell you weather its safe for you and the pregancy in question.
first link is for nutrition second is exercise:http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnan…http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnan…

Walking is the best exercise and you are right-nothing too strenuous like running or lifting weights.I am 25 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and walking is enough to keep me fit.

Yes it is OK to workout during pregnancy, in fact, it is good for her and the baby but she should not begin any new and strenuous exercise routines. Swimming, walking, bike riding, low impact aerobics are all very good. She needs to take vitamins for herself and the baby but more for herself than the baby because the baby will take what it needs and leave her completely depleted. Fresh fruits, veggies, fiber, protein and calcium are all good things. Pretty much the same foods that are good for you are good for her. The fresher and more preservative free the better. Avoid convenient foods, such as foods that have already been prepared and only need a microwave to complete. If you know what I mean. Those boxed foods and ready to serve meals are loaded with crap. Natural is better.

Jay had some great sites to look into!! When I was pregnant my Doctor told me I could do anything I did before I was pregnant and DO NO add any new exercise that I had not been doing. Use common sense my Dr. was angry with me when he found out I was still riding a dirt bike. so that goes to say you cant do everything you were doing.

walking..anything that she feels comfortable doing…..cardio as long as she can still maintain a conversation without getting breathless, and anything that does not require her to be on her back after the 5th month. leg and arm weight training is perfect.

If you arent high risk, then any excercise you did before you were pregnant is just fine. Always check with your Dr. though. If you werent active prior to your pregnancy than walking a good pace and light weights would be fine to do, and even swimming would be a great way to excercise.

Walking is the only I know, but talk to your doctor . Eat healthy foods, eat small meals like every few hours -so she won’t get heartburn. keep crackers around in case of morning sickness that helped me. good luck-congrats
