Exactly How Much Is 15g Of Peanut Butter? Is It Enough To Cover A Piece Of Bread?
Posted by Zolly | Under Nutrition Tuesday Dec 1, 2009I read on the nutrition facts of my peanut butter jar: “100 calories per 15g.” Now I’m wondering exactly how much is 15g of peanut butter? Is it enough to cover a piece of bread?
Peanut Butter is considered a high density food.
A Teaspoon weighs 3.8 grams and a Tablespoon weighs 11.4 grams.
So, your 15 grams is about 4 level teaspoons.
Sounds like just enough to make a PBJ!
The link below has density or volume to weight tables for most food items.
I don’t know how much is 15g is, but other people tell me that I put ALOT more peanut butter on than is needed, so I’m guessing I put more than that on and it is thick and covers the whole piece. Oh well.
15 grams is probably considered a single serving, therefor you’re probably right. I would see how many servings per container and divide that by total grams for answer.
