I have a 18 months old son, and he loves his toddler formula milk. He still eats plenty of solids. I am currently giving him about 4-5 bottles of formula and he seem to really enjoy it.
I only give him formula after his solids, so I make sure he gets enough solid meals before drinking his milk.
However I have been told to cut down on the formula and give normal cows milk. I give him cows milk once or twice a day but he does not drink much of it. Plus he is a very active boy and he does not seem to put on weight unless I supplement his solids with formula.. I kinda have a feeling that the formula milk has more nutrition than normal adult cows milk.
Do you think am giving too much formula to my son? Bare in mind that he eats solid food and he also loves his milk….

Can you also tell me if skim milk or low fat milk is more fattening?
The nutrition facts of skim milk seems to have less calories, but according to the internet, they say skim milk is fattening!
Thank youu so much if you can help!

I think my dog has demodex. I noticed an area right around his hackles between his shoulder blades where he is beginning to lose his hair. I looked the skin over and alls I could find was what looked like a small raised red bump (like a pimple) near the site of hair-loss.
The dog is a rescue dog that is about 8 months old. The dog initially was very stressed but seems to be adapting very well to his new home. I also started supplementing his kibble with a combination of cooked meat, yogurt plain (a tablespoon), some sort of whole grain product like whole wheat egg noodles, wheat bread crumbs etc and once every few days I might add some ground flax seed (just a pinch). The kibble compromises about 60% – 70% of his daily intake and the homemade food about 30%-40%.
I have read that demodex is common in dogs (or at least the mite that causes) and infection or lesions in young dogs who may have under developed immune systems is normal. I have only noticed one area.
I actually have a background in human nutrition and thought the food I was giving him was in line with what is recommended. It also may be totally unrelated.
Has anyone out there had a similar experience?

I know that it is risky in terms of salmonella and probably other stuff, but Rocky did it (jk)… but is there an increased nutritional value especially for those who are weight training?

Should I be pumping with every supplement? How long to offer the breast before formula? What is the gradual process of weaning from the formula without affecting babies health as far as weight/nutrition negatively?
Yes, the formula is needed. He hasn’t gained any weight. His diaper output was low. Even so the supplementing has further killed my supply. I only get one ounce pumping. He probably gets two ounces since babies are much better at extracting. He has a horrible latch. It doesn’t hurt, but its not quite as effective as was necessary to maintain my milk supply. Should I just give up? Can I ever get back to pumping 3+ oz at a setting. He is five weeks old. I’ve cried alot about this. I want so badly to bf him for a year.

Plants can make their own food (using photosynthesis), as long as they are able to get water, carbon dioxide from the air, and have some nutrients from the soil to make their cells.
Animals have to get their nutrition from other sources, either plants or other animals, because animals can’t make their own food.
That’s why all food chains start with the sun and plants – the plants are called producers because they’re the primary organism that “produces” food for all the other forms of life.

I may have missed something but I compared the two a while back and the nutrition facts and ingredients seemed to match exactly.

I have consulted a pediatrician and said that my kid is under going normal growth changes but also was diagnosed of gastritis. Before hand, he eats a lot of food but now he usually drink milk and spits out or if ever he eats, later he will vomit. Is there any supplement that i can add to his milk so that if ever he only drinks milk, there is enough nutrition to cover his active body? Is nesvita with fiber good enough or are there other best product to add up nutrition to his body even not eating solid food that i can put in his milk? He takes multivitamis daily though. Hope you can enlighten me regarding this situation. Many thanks.
